"You have to tell a story before you can sell a story"

ABOUT COMMERCIAL PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY
When I photograph products or images for a service-based business, I don't see just an inanimate object or random people doing random things in a random space. I see your blood, sweat and tears in bringing your business to a broader audience, I see your livelihood, I see your hopes and dreams of being successful in growing a business.
As your product photographer, I respect your products and what they mean to you. I will want to understand what motivates you and your business. Ultimately, I want to understand your customer and target market. Often, I will talk to your products when I photograph them. I edit and retouch the final images with personal care and attention to detail.
Crisp, Clear, Clean
All e-commerce sites including Amazon, Ebay and Shopify recommend a series of quality, clean product images that accurately reflect the product. Consumers generally rely more on the visual image than the product description to determine if the product will meet their needs and the quality of this image to share lots of information about the product will influence their purchasing decision.
Standard product images are typically presented on a pure white background. Great product images have minimal distractions, and soft even lighting across the product to accentuate crisp and clear product outlines. A series of high quality and consistent images in your e-commerce store generates consumer confidence in your products.
We have extensive experience across a broad range of products and understand the different image requirements for each of the major e-commerce sites. Our commitment is to create simple, clean images that best showcase your products.
STYLED & Staged
Engage, Entice, Convert
Your website/ social media images are often the introduction between you and a potential customer. Being able to draw upon a gallery of images that showcase your product and that can be used across different platforms, is a vital communication and marketing tool.
Products that are appropriately styled or staged can be a powerful magnet to keep a customer on your site for a little longer. These images are the influencers, to entice your potential customer to find out more about your product and hopefully improve your click to conversion rates.
Typically products may be staged "in situ", grouped with other products in a particular setting or are styled with various props. Flat Lay is a popular choice to promote and advertise products on social media. (You can see some of my flat lay work for other customers here). When thoughtfully composed, flat lay images are visually compelling. styling colour, textures and objects in interesting ways makes for great website banners or instagram/ facebook posts. Ideally, a flat lay image will tell a story about you, your company and your product.

Selling the Dream
The third main category of product images are Lifestyle images. Lifestyle image are about selling the dream, enabling your potential customer to visualise and feel how owning your product is either going to solve a problem for them, bring them closer to their "ideal" life, or bring them a little piece of happiness.
When creating lifestyle images it is important for there to be a clear understanding about the target market. The images need to reflect your "Ideal Client's" avatar. Being able to convey these key themes to your photographer of choice will enable the photographer to explore those ideas creatively.
Lifestyle images usually involve models or at least convey a sense of your client's interaction with the product.
